Another project born at a Vershout workshop — the same place as the kuksa cup. Sjors and Job run sessions on all things green woodworking, and spoon carving is one of the fundamentals. This one was shaped entirely by hand from fresh wood using a knife and a hook knife, with the carve marks still visible in the finished piece — exactly as they should be.

All the tools needed to keep carving at home are now in the toolkit, so the workshops have become something to do for the pleasure of it rather than necessity. Getting out of the house, working with your hands, being around people who enjoy the same things — that's reason enough.
