Original Lego motors are notoriously hard to come by, and the aftermarket prices are no joke. The solution: design a Lego-compatible motor housing in 3D, drop in a generic motor, and suddenly you've got a fresh supply of motors ready for whatever Lego project comes next. Printed in bright orange with proper studs on top, the housing snaps in just like the real thing.
It's a practical little hack dressed up as a Lego brick — and it works. A few of these are now sitting in the parts bin, ready for use. Sometimes the best solution to a parts problem is just to make the part yourself.
