This kuksa was made at a workshop by Sjors and Job of Vershout — a small Dutch company that runs hands-on workshops where you make spoons, chairs, and all sorts of things from fresh green wood. They're great guys, and the workshop was a proper introduction to working with an axe, a hook knife, and raw material straight from the forest.
It was the first time carving anything like this, and it's quite an involved process — shaping the outside, hollowing the bowl, getting the handle right. But the result speaks for itself: a functional, handmade drinking cup with real character. The kind of thing you keep on the shelf and actually use.
