This is a 3D print of an actual person — me. The scan was captured in a photogrammetry booth at Bright, a Dutch event all about electronics and gadgets. A ring of cameras fires simultaneously from every angle, reconstructing a full 3D model from a single snapshot. The result was then printed in gray FDM filament, and it captures a surprisingly accurate likeness — clothing details, posture, facial features and all.
The layer lines give it a slightly textured, sculptural quality that actually works in its favor. It's a strange and wonderful thing to hold a miniature version of yourself in your hand — equal parts novelty and oddly moving. A proper conversation piece.
